Residents to have opportunity to deposed old Christmas trees | Home & Garden

IOWA CITY, Iowa--Residents who receive City of Iowa City collection services may leave Christmas trees (natural trees only, no artificial) at the curb for pickup on their regular garbage day from Monday, January 7th through Friday, January 25th. The trees will be picked up for no additional charge and will be composted at the Iowa City Landfill and Recycling Center. Please do NOT place your tree in a plastic bag, and make sure to remove all decorations, garland, lights, etc. If you would like to dispose of an artificial tree, for an additional fee, please call 356-5180 to arrange for pickup.
