IOWA CITY, Iowa — A former University of Iowa student accused of sexually assaulting a woman who was showing him an apartment now faces new charges in a separate incident.According to the Iowa City Press-Citizen, Peng Tang, who is awaiting trial on charges of kidnapping and witness tampering, went to his former residence and stole a MacBook Pro laptop along with multiple bras and several pairs of underwear. Tang now faces second-degree theft and third-degree burglary. The residence was unoccupied when Tang entered but soon later one of the tenants came home and saw Tang in the living room holding a piece of mail. Tang allegedly told the victim it was OK for him to be in the house because he used to live there, according to the Iowa City Press-Citizen.
Police say it was days before he attacked a woman after she showed him her apartment for a possible sublet.
